Jodi has finished one novel length murder mystery, DC Shymer - Baking Brownies, is currently working on a second, DC Shymer - Hot Fudge Banana Split. The stories involve a psychiatrist, DC Shymer, who can see and communicate with spirits. Ordinarily, she uses her second sight to help spirits resolve issues from their lives that are preventing them from passing over after death, but in Baking Brownies, she finds herself using her skills to help solve a number of murders that are being blamed on the multitude of spirits still haunting New York as it tries to rebuild after being destroyed by a tsunami. In Hot Fudge Banana Split, DC returns to New York and discovers an attic full of murdered children and the spirit of a murdered coroner who resembles the current M.E., DC's friend, Lorén.
